The Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute (BHLI), committed to eliminating health disparities among minority and vulnerable populations, recently hosted its annual leadership program, to provide undergraduate scholars professional development opportunities and internships at premier healthcare systems across the nation.

This virtual event convened leaders including the United Way of New York city President & CEO Sheena Wright, Revs. Al Sharpton and Calvin O. Butts III, and others. CHL has established public health navigators in 120 churches across 13 states trained to provide access to COVID-19 testing and vaccinations and other health resources to address health disparities and inequities. This important discussion highlights key ways we can work together to educate and support the community in the fight against COVID-19.

Quest Diagnostics made a more than $3 million commitment to American Heart Association efforts to expand research and mentorship opportunities for Black and Hispanic scholars, and drive hypertension management and COVID-19 relief.
